A product of Royal College, Colombo Dr. Thahir Farzan hails from Negombo. He continued his higher education at the Dental College, University of Peradeniya, and Medical education at Nishter Medical College, Pakistan.
He completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey with a Fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is a Board Certified Gynecologic Oncologist and Advanced Pelvic Surgeon. He was trained in advanced robotic cancer surgery at the Mayo Clinic. In addition he is also certified in internal medicine and a fellowship in critical care medicine.
Dr. Thahir Farzan presently resides in Texas and works as a Gynecologic Oncologist in Amarillo. He brings cervical cancer awareness to the community by introducing ‘Free Pap Smear’ days to uninsured women in the vicinity. He does remote consultations for Sri Lankan doctors to resolve difficult medical issues in Gyn/Oncology.
