The Kalubowila (Colombo South) Teaching Hospital in Sri Lanka is the second largest hospital in the country. It is a teaching-oriented hospital (it was upgraded to teaching status in 1995) that maintains a bed strength of 1110. It covers most of the tertiary specialties and offers a variety of options for clinical electives, including forensic medicine.
The hospital is also part of the Sri Lanka Hospital Needs initiative, which aims to ensure that the hospital is properly equipped to treat the patients and provide the best training for students possible.
This hospital has been serving as a intermediate facility for COVID Patients since the occurrence of the Pandemic, March of 2020.
As you all know, Sri Lanka is heavily impacted by the 3rd wave of Covid-19 pandemic and the cases are under-reported due to many reasons. We want to start a fundraising campaign for this project due to the urgent need of medical equipment.
