Exceptional Performance Award was presented to Samantha Jinadasa for her achievements as an outstanding sportswoman. Samantha is a senior at Polytechnic High School. From a very young age, she has been in the GATE program and is now a National Merit Scholar. Not only is Samantha an excellent student, she is an exceptional badminton player. She was a USA National team member from 1999 to 2004 and played in the Pan Am games in the Dominican Republic & Peru. She was ranked #1 in Mixed doubles with Nicholas Jinadasa, #5 in Women’s Doubles and was the Singles champion in 1999, 2001 and 2002. She also won the 2002 Junior Pan American Team Gold Medal and the California State Games Badminton Athlete of the year in 1999.
