Ruvani, 18, from Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan just began her first year at Harvard University. Before doing that, Ruvani was in her high school show choir, was ranked 5th individually in the state in MathCounts (a team math competition), and placed 32nd in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee. She was also a contestant on “Jeopardy!” in 2005, achieved a perfect score of 36 on the ACT college entrance exam, and was selected as a 2006 Presidential Scholar.
Ruvani was one of 141 outstanding American high school students who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship, and service at school and their community. The Presidential Scholars were honored in Washington D.C. in June 2006. The award was given by the US Department of Education.
