Mr. Dylan Modder

Mr. Dylan Modder is a self-made entrepreneur. He received his primary education at St. Peter’s College, Colombo and moved to Canada to complete his higher studies. He worked in power systems for telecommunications for well over 20 years and thereafter was a Corporate Executive/Share Holder who ran a very successful Power Electronics manufacturing business until his retirement a few years ago.

In 1986 Mr. Modder was instrumental in forming Argus Technologies in Burnaby, Canada with the help of a Financier. This business began at ground zero but with his knowledge of marketing and pioneering efforts in Switchmode Technology they were soon the dominant suppliers to the US and Canadian market. Today Argus Technologies powers well over 80% of the Canadian Telecom and approximately 70% of AT & T cell sites, plus many other companies. While at Argus Technologies he was very active in hiring many Sri Lankans for their first job in Canada.

By the year 2000 the company’s growth increased to $145 million and had a manufacturing base in China. At this time Mr. Modder divested of his interest in Argus but agreed to stay on as CEO. In 2008 he retired to travel and enjoy life with his wife Christine and beloved family of five children and nine grandchildren.

In 2008, he was awarded the Honors Award for Entrepreneurship from St. Peter’s College, Colombo.

Mr. Modder is actively involved in social and volunteer services in Canada.
