The world’s biggest book sale begins in Sri Lanka

The world’s biggest book sale got underway in the Sri Lankan capital on Thursday, October 5, 2017 with 1.5 million books on sale at the SLECC. Founded by Managing Director Andrew Yap and Executive Director Jacqueline Ng, the Big Bad Wolf sale is aimed at encouraging reading of English books at reasonable prices. The sale will have over 20,000 titles covering various genres.

The event was inaugurated by Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam. The book sale will be open 24 hours a day for 11 consecutive days, from October 5 to the 15, 2017. That is 255 hours for book aficionados to come and enjoy the many titles under one roof.
