The second session of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Road Show was held at Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Washington DC, USA on 03rd October 2017. Thirteen Sri Lankan companies and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) participated in the Road Show, which was organized by the SLTPB for the first time in the USA. This was the second day of the Road Show, which started on 02nd October 2017 in New York. Companies such as Jetwing Travels (Pvt.) Ltd. and Aitken Spence Travels were among the participants in this key event.
The Road Show, attended by more than fifteen travel companies in Washington DC was inaugurated by Prof. Gamini Keerawella, Charge de Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C. in the presence of Mrs. Madhubani Perera, Director – Marketing and Mr. Chameera Peiris, Assistant Director – Marketing of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. In his inaugural speech, Prof. Keerawella highlighted the importance of the US market for Sri Lanka citing the statistical evidence of the US out-bound market.
The third session of the road show was held at Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 5, 2017. Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center was proud to join them to promote Sri Lankan Tourism. Displayed at the venue were pictures of tourist attractions, illustrating the beauty and the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. Tourist brochures were available for the visitors, and the show highlighted the many aspects of the great potential Sri Lanka has to become a major tourist destination in the world.
