Sri Lanka Contributes 1 Million Surgical Gloves to WHO in Global Fight Against Ebola Outbreak

President Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over one million surgical gloves to Dr. Firdosi Mehta, the Country Representative of the World Health Organization(WHO) at Temple Trees as Sri Lanka’s contribution toward the global effort in combating the Ebola outbreak in Africa. According to the WHO at least 2,622 people have died in the worst outbreak of Ebola virus in history, which has so far infected at least 5,335 people in West Africa.
