Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero, the chief abbot of the temple said that this day was special  since a food festival is a celebration of the different tastes of the community, which supports Sri Lankan traditional foods.

Everyone enjoyed a great selection of traditional Sri Lankan foods & other delicacies, sweets, drinks, batiks and crafts.  The Islanders band presented fantastic music during the festival. At the end of the day they held a cake auction to generate funds. Ms. Maheshi Kokila provided the cakes for this auction.
