Oregon Buddhist Vihara in Portland, Oregon celebrated Vesak last month. A Kiripidu Pooja and Sil program were led by the Chief Incumbent Ven. Pallebage Chandrasiri Thera. Ven. Aparekke Punnasiri Thera of Maithri Vihara in California led the dhamma discussion. Sunday school children showcased a beautiful perahara consisting of drummers, torch bearers and dancers. A magnificent and colorful Vesak Lantern which was lighted in the evening was the centre of attraction. Then they had a Bakthi gee recitle followed by a delicious Dansala.
