Benchling is a a developer of cloud-based tools for biotech research, It transforms how researchers do their work. It creates a unified place where researchers can log, store and analyze the data from various experiments. It operates like a system of record where the entire scope of a research project is executed within a single eco-system–allowing an organization to have all its institutional knowledge at its fingertips. The Benchling software raised $5m worth of investment.
26 year old Dhananjaya Jayalath, CEO and co founder of Athos smart apparel made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list too. His Athos smart apparel with built in sensors track muscle effort and activity and send real time information to your smart phone. He is an electrical Engineering graduate from the University of Waterloo who turned down a promising career at Apple to co- found Athos a wearable muscle sensory system. The Athos system raised $15.7 million in funding from investors.
