Two Sri Lankan Doctors join Rio Olympics medical team

Two Sri Lankan doctors left the island recently to join the sports medical staff at the Rio Olympics. They are Himan de Silva and Sanka Thebuwanaarachchi, who hold Postgraduate Degrees on Sports Medicine.
Dr. de Silva heads the Sports Medicine Division at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle. He will be the Incharge Field of Play Sports Physician at Rio Olympic Valderome Stadium.
Dr. Thebuwanaarachchi will be the Incharge Field of Play Sports Physician at Rio Olympic Pavilion 2. This is the first occasion where Sri Lankan doctors have joined the sports medical team at Olympics.
