Ten Ayurveda Products introduced to the International Market

Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne introduced ten Ayurveda products made by Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Corporation to both local and international markets through Cargill Corporation. Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Corporation has been manufacturing medicinal oils, balms, toothpaste and other products from medicinal plants.

Minister Senaratne informed the crowd that there is an increasing attraction to herbal drug products around the world and increasing number of foreigners from western countries are seeking Ayurvedic treatments due to less side effects. The main goal of the introduction is to boost Sri Lankan Ayurvedic Industry and increase Health Tourism. At present Sri Lanka is exporting Ayurvedic products to Australia, the Maldives and Germany.

“It is the first time that a leading local enterprise has come forward to promote some Ayurveda products manufactured by the State. I hope that many other private organizations and foreign companies will be placing orders for Sri Lankan Ayurvedic products which have no side effects” stated Minister Senaratne.
