Students of Sri Lanka United (SLU) at the University of Irvine joined together to showcase Sri Lanka in a Cultural show titled “Sundara Lanka – A Wonderful Lanka” on Saturday May 30, 2015. It was an evening of song, dance and fashion to showcase the diverse culture of Sri Lanka. SLU held various Sri Lankan pastry sales at the student center to raise funds for this event. Their friends, family and well-wishers got together to help organize this student run event. Mrs. Shanthi Bulathsinhala helped the students choreograph some items and provided some costumes. Mr. Malraj De Silva was the guest of honor. All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Educate Lanka, a non profit organization which empowers economically disadvantaged children and youth in Sri Lanka by mentoring and funding their education.
