Sri Lanka’s first State Photography Award Ceremony in August

Ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs together with the Department of Cultural Affairs will organize the Sri Lanka’s first State Photography Award Ceremony this year.

The event to be held parallel to the World Photography Day will be taken place on 19th August evening at the “Apegama” premises in Battaramulla under the patronage of the President Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Creative photographs under the themes, Life styles Cultural events, wildlife and landscape, mass media news and sports, wedding events, and open category under any other theme will be accepted for the competition on or before the 15th June.

The financial award have been arranged for the winners as Rs.25,000.00 for the first place, Rs.15,000.00 for the second place and Rs.10,000.00 for the third place and 10 merit certificates.

Meanwhile, a special photographic exhibition has also been arranged from 19th- 21st June at the same place.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and CulturalAffairs S.B.Navinna, it is expected to continue this award ceremony for the coming years in a grand scale.
