Sri Lankan American to represent California State at Ms. America 2016

Sri Lankan American Morina Dassanayake was crowned ‘Ms California State America 2016 in February. She will compete in the “Ms America 2016” pageant in September 2016. She has chosen the platform to ending hunger especially fighting for childhood hunger. She believes that a peaceful world cannot long exist,when one-third rich and two-thirds hungry.

Morina is multitalented, she is a dancer, actor and model. In 2011 she represented her beautiful motherland at the Ms Asia USA pageant and won the runner-up title. She has been working as an executive member with raising money to help less privileged, as well as promoting Sri Lankan cinema to young Sri Lankan Americans thru Ranwan Rayak Productions for the past 6 years. She has acted in various Sri Lankan movies in Sri Lanka & USA. Morina works for Bank of America and has won many global recognition awards. She is a mom of a 14 years old son and 8 years old daughter.

Ms. America pageant’s mission is to empower women across the nation, to celebrate their accomplishments, encourage involvement in community service, use the “crown for a purpose” to make a difference and to promote, honor & advance the status of women.The Ms America Pageant is will be held September 1st thru the 3rd at the Curtis Center in Brea, CA
