Sri Lanka Will Have Its Own Oil By 2020

Anoma Gamage Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development told the parliament that the previous government did not grant relief to the public when the world oil prices dropped. However the present government has provided that relief to the general public.

Furthermore the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been able to reduce its losses while settling the loans obtained from government institutions. The government has taken measures to develop the oil pipe system and introduce new technology to filling stations. 
Drilling of oil wells has also commenced. Therefore Sri Lanka will have its own oil from year 2020 Deputy Minister further said.
