To begin the new school year 2018/2019, the Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center hosted open enrollment this past Sunday, September 9th for the current students at 2010 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles. Many parents attended to re-enroll their children in the Dance and Drumming classes for the new school year.

The parents and students were very excited to learn about all the new areas that will be implemented for the future growth of the performing arts. A clear statement of vision and mission that reflects the belief and philosophy of the school was presented by Mrs. Aeshea Jayasinghe, the Vice President of Sri Lanka Foundation. The Director of the Sri Lanka Foundation Performing Arts Center, Achala Weerasinghe also stated the school has developed a well-written curriculum for the dance and drumming classes that is based on high standards, which reflects the evaluation of each student’s performance based on the content standards. She continued to let them know that the highly qualified instructors’ leadership supports the ongoing professional development of the students consistently.

The Performing Arts school has been meeting an acceptable level of quality that is evident from the students outcome, which leads the school to proceed to prepare to be the very first Sri Lankan Traditional Dance & Drumming School which is accredited in the US in Performing Arts by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
