Upwards of 400,000 people gathered at the Galle Face Green in Colombo for the open air mass to watch Pope Francis canonize the country’s first saint.
In a country of only seven percent are considered Catholics, this was an amazing sight. People of all religions and beliefs are said to have attended the mass to witness the canonization of blessed Joseph Vaz.
