The SLMAC community Eid Dinner had a slight twist this year. This was a meeting and greeting event at the Arcadia Center following our Eid Ul Adha Festival held last month. We did not have any religious sermons but instead had some light music for the first time provided by Renuka Samath. The food was a sumptuous Sri Lanka Biriyani catered by Serendib Catering. We had Riyaz Zavahir one of our past committee member as our Emcee who kept the audience entertained with his spellbound jokes. Plaques were issued to Dr Walter Jayasinghe, Dr Haris Musafer and Mr Miftha Thaha as a token of appreciation in giving ardent financial support to the SLMAC at all times. Our maestro Photographer Mr Moran Perera was brought in for the first time this year.

Major achievement have taken place this year. A new Janaza Program was inaugurated in April which was originated by Seyed Raheel and a successful fundraiser in June for the Sri Lankan flood victims. SLMAC also purchased 2 burial plots last month and intend purchasing 2 more next month.

Chief guest for this occasion was The Sri Lanka Consular General Mrs Swarna Gunaratne and guest of honor Dr and Mrs Walter Jayasinghe.
