A MOTHER of two young boys is aiming to raise over £3,000 for charity by trekking for ten days across Sri Lanka.
Victoria Rollinson, who works for Marie Curie as a health care assistant for the hospital at home service, is taking on the challenge which will see her walk between eight and nine hours a day across the island located in the Indian ocean.
The trek takes place in November and Victoria says that if she raises over her £3,200 target by next month she will have her head shaved in preparation.
She said: “I decided that if I hit my target that I would shave my hair off to basically show people that I am willing to go over and beyond for the charity.
“I haven’t done any training for it yet which is really bad. I am also running a Half Marathon in Cardiff as part of the fundraising.”
To help reach her target Victoria also held a fundraising day in Weobley Village Hall this Sunday.
Victoria says that the hardest part will be leaving her family for the duration of the trek.
“I’m hoping the trek will be quite straight forwards as I already do a moderate level of walking already although I think there will be a lot of climbing involved too,” she added.
“It’s going to be hard leaving my friends and family and my two young children aged three and four who keep me extremely busy.”
