Despite the net outflow of foreign exchange registered at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in 2016 and 2015, it is a small percentage when compared against the new inflow during the earlier years, said Chief Executive Officer of the CSE, Rajeeva Bandaranayake during a recent media briefing at the CSE.
“The net foreign inflow recorded during 2013 and 2014 were some Rs. 33 Billion and Rs. 22 Billion. However, despite there being some outflow in investments during this year and last year, it was not a huge amount.
During this year, up to now some Rs. 05 Billion and Rs. 03 Billion in 2015 has been recorded as a net outflow of foreign exchange. This makes it clear that the funds that flowed into the CSE still remain,” added Rajeeva Bandaranayake.
