Sri Lankan weightlifter Indika Dissanayake has won the first Silver medal for Sri Lanka in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Indika Dissanayake claimed Silver in the Men’s 69kg weightlifting event after lifting 137 kilograms in the Snatch category and 160 kilograms in the Clean and Jerk category.
Accordingly, the Sri Lankan weightlifter lifted a total of 297 kilograms. Gareth Evans of Wales clinched the Gold medal with a total lift of 299 kilograms.
