First Sri Lankan-American appointed to the Judicial Bench in State of California

Aruna P. Rodrigo was recently appointed as a Judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County. Hon. Aruna P. Rodrigo is the first Sri Lankan-American appointed to the judicial bench in State of California. He was born and raised in Sri Lanka. His family migrated to the United States in 1991 at the age of nine. Hon. Aruna P Rodrigo obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, Juris Doctor of law and a Master of Public Administration from University of La Verne.

He was admitted to practice law in State of California in 2008 and is a certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California. He was also an adjunct law professor at University of La Verne College of Law. Until his appointment, he held various senior trial attorney positions including working at the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Along with his wife, they founded and managed Rodrigo Law Firm, PC in Southern California.
