Sri Lanka Youth Organization (SLYO) chapters in New York and Los Angeles rallied together to sponsor a beautiful playground and provide school supplies to the kids at the Morahena Junior School. Janaka Abeysinghe of the Los Angeles chapter visited the school on June 22nd to ceremonially unveil the playground donated by the SLYO New York Chapter. Students were also ecstatic to receive their backpacks  filled with school supplies which was sponsored by the SLYO Los Angles chapter. “The future of Sri Lanka lies in the hands of her children” was SLYO’s motto for this summer project. When asked about the project since they believe how we support them now will determine how mother Lanka prospers tomorrow.
