A presentation and discussion on bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Switzerland was organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka was held in Colombo on Tuesday, September 22.
Ambassador of Switzerland, Walker-Nederkoorn stated that the political landscape of Sri Lanka has changed completely, resulting in a particularly good moment to relaunch economic relations. He went on to note that the 50,000 locals living in Switzerland, as a very big asset for their bilateral relations.
He added that according to statistics, while Swiss Foreign Direct Investment in Sri Lanka is around 550 million US Dollars, and the trade volume between the two countries is currently an estimated 300 million Swiss Franc per year.
