British Sri Lankan Association President at the Royal Borough

Commonwealth Day was marked in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames with the raising of the Commonwealth Flag in a Flag Raising Ceremony followed by a reception in the Queen Anne Suite with a keynote speech from the Chairman of The British Sri Lankan Association (BRISLA) Dr. Zimar Sivardeen. He led the address around the theme of inclusivity, marking the annual international celebration.

Col. Geoffrey Godbold OBE TD DL, Representative Deputy Lieutenant and Cllr. Geoff Austin, Deputy Mayor of Kingston were joined by Dr. Sivardeen, Chair of the British Sri Lankan Association (BRISLA). In his speech, Dr. Sivardeen ended by saying “in changing times, the need for the Commonwealth to work as an inclusive network for mutual support, development and growth of opportunity is as great as ever for the rights of all.” Courtesy of BRISLA.org
