Amongst the variously name charities the “Birthday Fund” Charity is unique concept. Headed by Jayantha Herath, the Birthday Fund members have a simple vision. Every year we spend thousands on our birthday why not just donate 10 pounds to the Birthday Fund. This year they donated shoes under their “Happy Feet” Campaign to deserving students in rural areas together with DSI shoes. Their next project is helping students with vision problems. Their mission states “We support talented children in poorer families in rural areas in Sri Lanka by creating a lasting income for their families. It would help them stand on their feet and support themselves in the long term.”
