Sri Lanka at the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship

The Sri Lankan Volleyball Federation has chosen eight players (men and women) for the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship in Thailand from the 9th to the 16th of April 2016. Categorised into two separate competitions, a total of 20 countries are expected to participate in the event. The two different competitions are known as the Nakohon SI Open and the Seventeenth Samila Open. As reported in the Sunday times, “Sri Lanka is fielding two strong teams and we expect to win medals in the open categories (men and women). The Sri Lanka team was selected from a pool of 21 players and have been training for about two months at the Heyantuduwa NYSC Training Centre and the Negombo beach,” said Head Coach Prasanna Udayakumara.
