Sri Lankan Duo to Conquer Everest.

Will they accomplish what Hillary and Tenzing achieved in 1953, by climbing Everest, and bring glory to Sri Lanka.

Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala and Johann Peiris are attempting to be the first successful Sri Lankans to scale the 8,488m climb to the summit of Mount Everest. The highly experienced duo who have been training together for the past four years. They are confident about their abilities and had the utmost faith in each other and the globally renowned mountaineering company International Mountain Guides (IMG) who have led successful expeditions for over 30 years.

The Duo is fully prepared for all the dangers and eventualities that they will encounter on route to one of the worlds harshest environments. Johann Peiris said he is “looking forward to the journey ahead after training so hard for so long, and it has been a dream of ours for even longer. The weather condition is something that is out of are hands yet we will prepare hard for the right window to attempt the summit.”On successfully reaching the summit of Mount Everest, Jayanthi and Johann will join a prestigious list of mountaineers who defied the odds to reach the mighty peak.
