Nalanda College Old Boys Association of America together with their families and friends held the “Taste of Sri Lanka 2016,” a food festival to raise funds for a fellow Nalandian. The evening of March 12th was quite busy at the Maithree Viharaya in Sun Valley, Sri Lankans from around Los Angeles gathered to support a friend and enjoy delicious Sri Lankan food.

The line for the Kottu stall was quite long; The kids gathered around to see the rhythmic beating of the metal spatulas as their parents enjoyed catching up with friends in line. Everyone enjoyed hot hot hoppers with chicken curry and seeni sambol. Fresh Pol Roti was also available with fish curry and katta sambol. The food festival would not be complete without delicious Short Easts and Ice Coffee. The festival was a success, Nalandians made their alma mater proud by gathering together to help a fellow old Nalandian in California, who is going to have kidney surgery.
