Successful Zoom Parent’s meeting was held by the SLF Academy of Performing Arts

On Sunday, May 31, 2020 the Sri Lanka Foundation management team, the Academy of Performing Arts staff, and parents joined to discuss the progress of the online classes that has been taking place since April of 2020.

First and foremost all parents conveyed their utmost gratitude to Dr Walter Jayasinghe and the entire Jayasinghe family for the opportunities provided for their children to learn Dance & Drumming. The feedback that was shared by the parents was very positive and encouraging for the management to hear to plan for the future of the Academy of Performing Arts. Many parents said they were amazed of their children transitioning from the classroom setting to online classes with great interest and eager to learn.

The staff captured the focus of the students interest by the achievement of the projects completed and also from their enthusiastic attitudes.

Changes in the curriculum that had to be made to meet the needs of the requirements of the Accreditation process for online classes were discussed at length. The staff had to make many adjustments to the daily lesson plans to accommodate the different levels to make sure they cover all areas to offer a well rounded curriculum.

The meeting ended with Achala Weerasinghe, the Director of Cultural Affairs and the Director of Operations by thanking everyone for their participation and their feedback.
