“You” Nominated for Three awards at IFS film fest

“You” a film by Sri Lankan American director Linton Semage is nominated for Best feature, Best Audience Award and the Best Director Award at the upcoming IFS Film Fest in Hollywood on May 20, 2018. IFS showcases the most extensive collection of undiscovered and independent films from around the world, alongside work from some of Hollywood’s best-known independent directors. This year the IFS Film Festival features 110 films from 16 countries.

“You: The gun is mine the bullets are yours” illustrates the tragic events that come upon the society as a whole, when a gun falls into the wrong hands. It is a unique take on the correlation between weapons and its effects on the society.

Produced by Thimari Semage and Directed by Linton Semage who is a Sri Lankan artist. He has performed on stage as an actor, dancer, and a mime since the late 1980’s. In 1991, he produced and directed the original stage play Panchayudaya (Five Weapons) which received the National Award for Best Actor and Best Play that year. In 1995, he won the National Best Actor Award for his role in Meeharaka (The Buffalo) and again in 1996 for is performance in Ayoma. He has also written and directed “The Outcast” in 1999, and “Pickpocket” in 2002 which received accolades at international film festivals.
