Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena offered the post of Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in the United Kingdom to retiring cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara at the farewell ceremony held for Sangakkara at the end of the second test match against India. The President added that Sangakkara has rendered an excellent service on behalf of the country and the people and extended best wishes for his future endeavors. Sangakkara, speaking at the farewell extended his gratitude to all who have contributed in numerous ways to enhance his cricket life. He added that though retired from the sport he would continue to focus attention on the young players.
