“Dark in the White Light” (Sulanga Gini Aran) will compete for “The Golden Leopard” award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. It is directed by Vimukthi Jayasundara and is a Sri Lanka and France co production. It is the first time a Sri Lankan film has been chosen to compete in the main category at the event. The Locarno Film Festival is being held in Locarno, Switzerland, from August 5 to 15.
“Dark in the White Light” will compete against 18 other movies from Russia, Italy, Greece, France, Portugal, Japan, USA, Germany, Switzerland, South Korea, Spain, Belgium, Mexico, Israel and UK.
