With the Novel Corona Virus Pandemic still spreading worldwide and the public health and economic crisis continues, Sri Lanka Foundation partnered with four Expert Medical Professionals, Dr. Deepathi Jayasekera, Clinical Professor in Infectious Disease, Dr.Dushyantha Jayaweera, Professor Infectious Disease Specialist, University of Miami School of Medicine and University of Miami Hospital, Dr. Malini De Silva, MD Mayo Medical School, Rochester Minneapolis, MPH University of Minnesota School of Public Health, Minneapolis, Certificate of Tropical Medicine, Minnesota, Minneapolis, Staff Physician, St Paul Ramsey County Tuberculosis clinic, Dr Devinda Kurera, Emergency Physician, Montclair Chino, & San Dimas California, Keck School of Medicine, at the University of Southern California, Emergency Medicine Residency, Naval Medical Center San Diego to address essential issues and share their knowledge with our community on Sunday,September 20th, 2020. One of the main topics was to provide information regarding the vaccinations which is being still an unknown factor being developed.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States, Hon. Rodney Perera was one of our special guests, and in his speech, he thanked the Sri Lanka Foundation for the selection of expert medical professionals to generate awareness of the Pandemic by organizing this Webinar, the other special guest was the, former Director General, currently Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, Dr Anil Jayasinghe, inspired the audience by sharing his success story, how the Pandemic was contained in Sri Lanka. Dr Saroj Jayasinghe, the Chair Professor, and former head, department of Medical Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, shared details of statistics and the different areas of strong measures that was taken by the Sri Lankan government to control the Pandemic.

Many concerned and great questions concerns were pouring in from the attendees which were answered by our speakers. We received many positive comments from our listeners thanking and applauding our panelist for a job well done and said that they are looking forward to our next Webinar on COVID-19.
