The 27-year old Sri Lanka batsman, Roshen Silva steadied the Sri Lankan innings by scoring an unbeaten century against Durham in the 4-day match at Chester Le Street, England.

Silva was well supported by all-rounder Sachith Pathirana before Sandhu dismissed him as he reached his half century.

With a total of 6 fours under his name, Roshen Silva’s unbeaten 103 came off 231 deliveries. He was pretty defensive throughout his knock.

With Prabath Jayasuriya by his side, Roshen Silva can certainly work on his strike rate to put Durham under some pressure on Day 2. The Sri Lankans were 273 for the loss of 6 wickets at stumps.

Gurjit Sandhu emerged as the pick of the bowlers for Durham, bagging 3 for 50 in his 18 over spell.
