Iran has not made any decision to lease aircrafts from Sri Lanka, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan said.

He was responding to reports that Iran was in talks with Sri Lanka to renegotiate the orders for three A350-900 aircrafts ordered by the last Government.

The former management of SriLankan Airlines had entered into a contract in 2013 with Airbus for the purchase of eight A350-900 aircrafts to replace the existing wide-body fleet.

Tehran Times reported that Sri Lanka was looking to lease three of those aircrafts to Iran.
