Bawa Tharanaya acclaimed at Delhi International Film Festival screened in SL

Devinda Kongahage’s first film direction Bawa Tharanaya, which was adjudged the Best Film at the fourth Delhi International Film Festival had its first Sri Lankan screening recently.

Bawa Tharanaya sees Devinda Konghage playing the role of director of a film for the first time. The film is based on the research book of Professor Lona Devaraja titled The Upcountry Throne.

The film was adjudged the Best Film at the Delhi International Film Festival, which saw over 219 entries from the United States of America, Germany, India , Korea, Eygypt and several others.

The main characters in this film are portrayed by Malani Fonseka, Sajeewa Rasaputra, Udayanthi Kulatunga, Roshan Pilapitiya, Mahendra Perera , Chandika Nanayakkara and a host of others.
