Video Attached! Another Successful Medical Webinar Hosted by AAUPOC in Collaboration with SLF

With the Novel Corona Virus Pandemic still spreading worldwide and the public health and economic crisis continues, the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya, Ottawa, Canada chapter in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Foundation, partnered with the two expert doctors, Dr Deepthi Jayasekera, Infectious Disease Specialist, Clinical Professor of Western University, in California, and Dr Dushyantha Jayaweera, Professor in Clinical Medicine of University of Miami, Florida, addressed essential issues in “New Covid Therapeutics and Vaccines” to bring awareness and to educate our communities on December 13th, 2020.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Canada Hon.Sitara Khan was one of our special guests, and in her speech, she thanked the AAUPOC and the Sri Lanka Foundation for the selection of expert medical professionals to generate awareness of the Pandemic by organizing this Webinar, the other special guest was Dr Walter Jayasinghe, the Founder of the Sri Lanka Foundation, said, quote, ” it is great that we organize these webinars specially during this unprecedented times as in the past the medical subject has not been discussed, I encourage you all to organize similar academic webinars in the future”. Dr Nimal De Silva, the President of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya, Ottawa Chapter shared the highlights of his organization and thanked everyone for the team work between the two organizations which led to the success of this webinar.

We had a large crowd of attendees globally to witness the very informative presentations delivered by the panel of doctor’s and they also were able to answer questions to give assurance in regards to the crucial and important questions that came through the live chatline.
