President Maithripala Sirisena inaugurated the Mövenpick Hotel in Colombo. Mövenpick Hotel Colombo is the first new five-star hotel to open in Colombo in 25 years. It has open spaces, modern designs and cool features, making it the perfect base from which to explore the capital city. The 24-storey vertical urban resort boasts contemporary design, panoramic views and an uplifting atmosphere. Softlogic Holdings Plc partnered with the Swiss hotel brand to open the 5-star Mövenpick Hotel which is located close to the Liberty Arcade.
