Saturday, November 16th at 11.30am many people gathered to watch the Sri Lanka Foundation Academy of Performing Arts performing at the Disneyland California Adventure Park Hollywood Backlot stage. Everyone applauded watching the magnificent performance which was directed and choreographed by our acting Principal Lal Thilakaratna and choreographed by our dance instructor, Umendra Kahahawaarachchi. The 30 minute performance consist of five different segments of dancing and a quick glance of the Parade and live drumming. A few of the people commented that the extremely colorful costumes, the music and the entire performance was “breath taking”. All of the students, staff and the parent volunteers were rewarded for their dedication and hard work with free tickets to enjoy the park the rest of the day. Dr Walter Jayasinghe, the Founder of the Sri Lanka Foundation, Dr Dishan Jayasinhe, the President of the Sri Lanka Foundation and Mrs Aeshea Jayasinghe, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Foundation said they are very pleased that the Academy of Performing Arts is fulfilling the mission by showcasing our culture worldwide.
