Tea aficionados can try some of the best that Sri Lanka has to offer at an event on Sunday at Benares Historic House in Mississauga.

The Ceylon Tea Room is being staged as part of South Asian Heritage Month and will feature Ceylon teas that are grown and harvested from Sri Lanka’s famous tea regions.

At the service, three teas will be served – black tea, jasmine green tea and chai tea. Each will be paired with a traditional Sri Lankan dish, including coconut pancakes with palm sugar syrup.

During the tea, dancers from the Indian dance troupe Apsaras will perform the ancient and classical dance known as Bharathanatya. It features elegant hand movements and intricate footwork.

The event starts at 2 p.m.

Tickets cost $20 for children and $40 for adults. That includes the menu, tea service, live entertainment and a tour of Benares.
