Ven. Bokanoruwe Dewananda Thero of the Florida Buddhist Vihara recently published two new Buddhist books.
The first, “Short Dhamma Stories For Kids,” is a compilation of traditional didactic Theravada Buddhist stories which have been historically passed down as a means of relating ethics and values. All the stories within the book have been translated into English.

Surveying pre-modern social norms, “Social Aspects of Early Buddhism” takes on the Buddhist point of view of the world. It begins with an explanation into the Buddhist idea of the formation of the universe and the progression of the development of morality in society up until the time of the Buddha. It further examines the economic, political, and societal relationships between people of that time.
The book was compiled through research from original Pali and Sanskrit texts.
