CD Release: Weli Aetayak

Sri Lankan expatriate, Dr. Vicumpriya Perera, recently released, Weli Aetayak, his second Sinhala music CD containing eighteen songs sung by Nalin Jayawardena with original lyrical compositions by Dr. Perera himself.
Nalin Jayawardena, a versatile singer with vocal abilities in many genres of music traditions lives in Perth, Australia and this is his seventh CD. His previous CD releases were welcomed by fans with much enthusiasm, and this CD is thought to be on par with that tradition.
Weli Aetayak contains songs and music directed and composed by the exceptional musical talents of Sangeeth Wickramasinghe, Ananda Waidyasekera, Rohan Jayawardena, Jayanga Dedigama, Sanuka Wickramasinghe, and Rukshan Karunanayake (and Chimes of the Seventies). The CD contains several duets sung with Santhuri Waidyasekera, Sangeeth Wickramasinghe, Ananda Waidyasekera, Nijamalie Jayawardena, and Sandhuni Rashmika Athulage.
The CD is being distributed in Sri Lanka by Jayananda Record Bar of Malwatta Road in Colombo. The CD is also available for download and purchase from leading music websites such as amazon.com and lankaheritage.com.
Dr. Vicumpriya Perera is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Kent State University and is the creator and co-manager of a well-known Sri Lankan website, Sinhala Jukebox.
