April 10, 2009 — The winning cricket team that took home the trophy at this year’s Pakistan Day, held on March 29th at the Tustin Sports Complex, was none other than Team Sri Lanka. Six teams competed for the trophy – three from Pakistan, and one team each from India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Nalin Priyadharshan of Team Sri Lanka won the Best Bowler Award. Tiran Mendis, Captain of the OCLion Cricket Club, lead Team Sri Lanka to an easy win over Team Pakistan-1.

The cricket tournament was organized by Abid Hussain, President of the Orange County Cricket Association, and coordinated by Shantha Suraweera, President of the OCLions Cricket Club. The event was arranged to remember the unity between countries in the South Asian region despite the recent terror attacks upon the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan.
