A Show of Solidarity for Sri Lanka

Thousands of patriotic Sri Lankans in the United States held a rally in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. on the morning of Friday, February 20, 2009, to show support for the humanitarian operations launched by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces to rescue the trapped Tamil civilians. 

This large gathering of patriotic Sri Lankans attended the rally in support of the recent humanitarian missions of the Sri Lankan Security Forces, and to request the Obama administration to aid in the release of the many Tamil civilians forcibly held by terrorist in the Mallaitivu area. Patriotic Sri Lankans from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina took part in this event.
