Description:

Enjoy a 3 course tea service paired with delicious treats from tropical Ceylon during South Asian Heritage Month.

Sunday May 29 at 2:00 pm

The Ceylon Tea Room is an afternoon tea event where you can explore the teas, tastes and culture of tropical Ceylon. Enjoy a fine afternoon outdoors and try three famous Ceylon teas paired with traditional dishes, tea sandwiches and scones. The event will feature a three course tea service where each course will be paired with a traditional Ceylon delicacy, such as coconut pancakes with Jasmine green tea. See below for full menu.

During the tea, Apsaras will demonstrate the beautiful art of Bharathanatya, an ancient classical danceform with elegant hand gestures and intricate footwork.

Following the tea service, guests are invited to take a step back in time to over 100 years ago with a tour of the Benares Historic House. The estate was home to four generations of the Harris and Sayers families and is filled with original antique possessions of the families.
